Anna Mae Rogers Boiteaux Trosclair passed away at the age of 88 in the evening hours of Monday, October 2, 2023, at her son’s home in Louisa.
Anna Mae was born in Freetown, Louisiana on September 11, 1935, the youngest of seven children born to the union of Arthur Rogers and Anna Granger Rogers. She enjoyed a simple life, working from the home and raising six children. She didn’t have much, but what she did have was freely given to anyone in need. Some of her favorite pastimes include watching her westerns and wrestling, occasional trips to the casino, the many phone calls from and trips with her niece Joyce Zuvich, and simply spending time with her family.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her four children, Louis “Poochie” Boiteaux Jr., Darrell Boiteaux, Maxine Trosclair and her companion Eldon Shinn, and Donald Trosclair and his wife Angieh; two sisters, Bernice Dubois and Enola Mars; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy John Trosclair; two sons, David “Grasshopper” Boiteaux and Bobby Boiteaux; her parents, Arthur and Anna Rogers; four siblings, Nolan Rogers Sr., Miriam Rogers, Minus “Sonny” Rogers, and Abel Rogers; as well as many other family members and friends.
In keeping with her wishes, Ms. Anna Mae will be cremated with private memorial services to be held at a later date with family and close friends.
