A Bayou L’Ourse man has been arrested on 36 counts involving child sexual abuse material depicting children under the age of 13, according to Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon.

Aroldo Paniagua Rocha, 28, was arrested following an investigation that began when the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Investigators said approximately 300 files containing sexually explicit images of children under 13 were uploaded to a Google account between October 2023 and July 2026.

Detectives reportedly connected 36 of those files to an IP address at a residence on Elaine Street in Bayou L’Ourse. Authorities subsequently identified Rocha as a person allegedly in possession of the illegal material.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence Thursday morning and reportedly recovered evidence connected to the investigation.

Rocha was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on the following charges:

Rocha remained incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Authorities said two additional people encountered during the execution of the search warrant were taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They were identified as Cruz Martinez and Uriel Paniagua. No additional identifying information was released.

Both were transferred to ICE custody, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Falcon thanked the Louisiana Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement for assisting with the investigation.
