LAFAYETTE, La. — A Franklin man was found shot to death early Wednesday morning in the parking lot of a Lafayette apartment complex, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
Authorities identified the victim as Irving Lumpkin III, 22, of Franklin.
Police say officers responded to the Grand Pointe Apartments located on Kaliste Saloom Road at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25. Upon arrival, officers discovered Lumpkin deceased at the scene.
Investigators say the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation.
