Napoleonville — Louisiana State Police Troop C is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on November 26, 2025, shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Franklin Avenue near Philosopher Street in Assumption Parish. The crash resulted in the death of 71-year-old Lonnie Robinson of Napoleonville.
According to the preliminary investigation, Robinson was driving a 2008 Nissan Rogue west on Franklin Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a residence.
Robinson, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
A routine toxicology sample was collected and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
State Police remind motorists that while not all crashes are survivable, wearing a seat belt greatly reduces the risk of severe injury or death. Louisiana law requires all occupants, regardless of seating position, to remain properly buckled at all times. Seat belts continue to be one of the most effective tools for saving lives on the road.
