On the morning of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Birch Street belonging to Michael Anthony Noel.
The warrant was the result of a long-term investigation into Noel’s involvement in the distribution of illegal narcotics, including Fentanyl, Cocaine and Methamphetamine. During the search, detectives recovered suspected cocaine, methamphetamine numerous bags of fentanyl, a highly dangerous drug that has been linked to countless deaths across the nation, as well as cash and vehicles connected to the investigation.
Noel, who is currently on federal parole stemming from previous federal narcotics convictions, was taken into custody.
Chief Chad M. Adams stated:

Every arrest and every conviction is one step closer to a safer Morgan City. While our thoughts and prayers remain with the families who have lost loved ones to these dangerous drugs, the Morgan City Police Department will continue to press the fight to protect our citizens and make our community safer.”
