Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced that the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old male and left an 18-year-old female with life-threatening injuries.
On September 9, 2025, shortly after 6:00 p.m., TPSO Patrol Division deputies were dispatched to an apartment located in the 700 block of Bayou Gardens Boulevard, after witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area. Responding deputies located two victims inside an apartment suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The 19-year-old male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 18-year-old female victim was transported to an out-of-area hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Terrebonne Parish Violent Crimes Detectives responded and have taken over the investigation, which remains in its early stages.
Sheriff Soignet emphasized that investigators are pursuing multiple leads and working diligently to identify those responsible. “This is an active and ongoing investigation,” Sheriff Soignet stated. “We are committed to finding justice for the victims and their families, and we encourage anyone with information to come forward.”
