Morgan City Man Charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

AMELIA– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Anthony Paul Hebert, 40, of 1645 Second Street, Morgan City, LA, on felony aggravated assault charges arising from an incident at a worksite near Amelia on Friday morning.
Deputies were dispatched to the location in the 100 block of Bayou Bouef Road. The deputies made contact with the complainant who advised that an individual now identified as Anthony Paul Hebert showed up at work and engaged supervision in an argument over a payroll issue. Anthony Paul Hebert was in possession of a handgun and directed threats towards persons on site. Anthony Paul Hebert left the location but did indicate that he would return with an assault style firearm if necessary to resolve the issue.
Deputies contacted the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office who were able to locate Anthony Paul Hebert at his residence in Morgan City and took him into custody. A large caliber handgun was recovered.
Anthony Paul Hebert was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on Friday and was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm)
Anthony Paul Hebert was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
