Andrew “Andy” Reed, a native of Basile and a proud resident of Morgan City, was unexpectedly called to his heavenly home on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the age 76. Andy dedicated 50 remarkable years as a law partner at Aycock, Horne & Coleman, where his commitment and integrity left a lasting legacy. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a devoted family man who deeply cherished his loved ones and understood the true value of family in a well-lived life.
Those left to cherish Andy’s beautiful memory is his wife of 35 years, Karen Stephens Reed; his children, Amy Reed Thorguson and her husband, Brian, Ben Reed and his wife, Alexina, and Sarah Tessler and her husband, Louis; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Owen, Bella, Henry, Fletcher, Zane, Jake, and Theo; his siblings, Dale Reed and his wife, Sandra, Oscar Reed Jr. and his wife, Rosie, Ken Reed, Dr. Donald Reed and his wife, Elaine, Ronald Reed and his companion, Gayle, and Jan Foret and her husband, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mabel Reed Sr., his in-laws, Ashley and Lois Stephens, and his grandson, Gunnar Thorguson.
A memorial service will be held for Andy on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following the services, the family extends an invitation for relatives and friends to join them for a memorial gathering held in memory of Andy at The Petroleum Club of Morgan City. In keeping with the family’s wishes, final services will be held privately.
