Carencro Man Charged with Felony Theft Related to a Burglary of an ATM

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of D’Shaun Thomas, 22, of 100 Crossfield Lane, Carencro, LA on felony charges related to the burglary of an ATM at a local financial institution.

On or about November 14, 2023, deputies responded to the complaint and determined that forced entry had been made into the ATM. A vehicle stolen from a nearby residence was used to commit the burglary of the ATM.

Detectives initiated an investigation which led to the identities of two suspects, one of which was identified as D’Shaun Thomas. Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Thomas.

D’Shaun Thomas was arrested by the Jennings Police Department and transferred to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on April 02, 2025.

D’Shaun Thomas was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Theft of a Motor Vehicle
*Theft (Felony)
*Theft or Criminal Access of an Automated Teller Machine

D’Shaun Thomas remains incarcerated with bond set at $120,000.

The other suspect identified as Stanley Varner, II was arrested on October 17, 2024, and remains incarcerated in the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
