The Iberia Parish Coroner has released the name of the victim who died as a result of a Wednesday evening shooting in Jeanerette. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Oshaun Smith of Jeanerette.
While details are limited at this time, Jeanerette Police Department announced Wednesday evening that the area of Church and Pellerin Streets was closed due to an active crime scene. The statement added that if anyone has any information to please contact the detectives at the Jeanerette Police Department 337-276-6323. Tips can remain anonymous.
