A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and armed robbery following a shooting in Houma earlier this week.

On Monday, November 4, 2024, at approximately 9:20 AM, officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Grand Caillou Rd. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his forearm. They promptly rendered aid and successfully stopped the bleeding. The victim was then transported to the local hospital by the Houma Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance Service.

The victim told police that the shooting occurred near a business located at the intersection of Prospect Blvd and Grand Caillou Rd. He was able to provide suspect information, which led officers to identify and apprehend 17-year-old Migeal Landry. Landry has been charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of armed robbery.

The Houma Police Department is encouraging anyone with information about the shooting to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region. Tips can be given by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tipsters could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if the information leads to an arrest and conviction.
