NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the filing of a verified complaint against a 14-year-old in connection with the rape of a juvenile under the age of 13.
On June 21, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in reference to the alleged rape of the child on numerous occasions over a period of approximately one (1) year. The offenses were allegedly committed at a residence on Marshall Lane west of Napoleonville.
Detectives initiated an investigation and were able to identify the 14-year-old male as the suspect.
Detectives interviewed the involved parties. At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives filed a verified complaint against the 14-year-old for First Degree Rape.
The 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody by the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office on July 18, 2024. The suspect has been transferred to the custody of Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and is being held at a juvenile correctional facility pending a 72-hour hearing.
