On Thursday, July 11, 2024, the Morgan City Police Department was contacted by investigators with the Houma Police Department regarding a suspect, Adrian Williams, who was wanted for Attempted Second Degree Murder from a shooting that occurred in Houma.

Williams was reportedly hiding out in a residence on Robin Street in Morgan City. Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Investigation Division, along with assistance from the Houma Police Department, Department of Homeland Security and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department, proceeded to the residence on Robin Street and began call out procedures.

A short time later, Williams exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was initiated on the residence, where a firearm, along with suspected marijuana, was recovered. A check revealed that Williams was a convicted felon, which prohibits him from possessing a firearm.

Williams was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked on the fugitive warrants for Attempted Second Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon and Possession of Marijuana, and now awaits court proceedings.
