Johnny Washington Jr., 60, Bunkie, LA, was arrested on April 15, 2024, at 3:49 pm on the following charges:
- Driving left of center
- Possession of Schedule I CDS with intent to distribute (MDMA)
- Possession of Schedule II CDS with intent to distribute (Cocaine)
- Possession of Schedule IV CDS with intent to distribute (Alprazolam)
- Possession of Schedule II CDS with intent to distribute (Oxycodone)
- Resisting an officer by providing false information
Bail was set at $250,000
Isreal Edward Dawson, 66, Bunkie, LA, was arrested on April 12, 2024, at 9:19 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of Schedule I CDS with intent to distribute (MDMA)
- Possession of Schedule II CDS with intent to distribute (Cocaine)
- Possession of Schedule IV CDS with intent to distribute (Alprazolam)
- Possession of Schedule II CDS with intent to distribute (Oxycodone)
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
On Friday, April 12, 2024, a detective with the SMPSO Narcotics Section conducted a traffic stop in the Morgan City area on a white Mercedes Benz. The detective made contact with the driver, who identified himself as Ronald Washington, and a passenger, Isreal Dawson.
Through the stop and investigation, K9 Eyla conducted an open-air sniff and showed a positive alert on the vehicle. Subsequently, drugs were found in the vehicle.
The amount of the drugs found demonstrated an intent to distribute. As the investigation progressed, it was learned that Washington’s name was actually Johnny Washington, Jr.
The narcotics and the Mercedes were seized, and both men were transported to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for booking. Bail was set at $250,000 on Washington and at $150,000 on Dawson.
