A 22-year-old man from Beaumont, Texas, Joseph M. Madison Jr., was arrested on September 6, 2023, at 12:23 pm in connection with a child exploitation investigation. Madison faces charges of child trafficking for sexual purposes, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with juveniles, and involvement in juvenile pornography.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and Morgan City Police Department launched an investigation in June 2023 after discovering that several adults were having inappropriate conversations with a minor on social media platforms. Eventually, investigators identified Madison as the main suspect.

Their findings showed that Madison had engaged in multiple obscene discussions with the underage victim. Further investigation revealed that he also conspired and actively participated in a plan to distribute child sexual abuse materials in exchange for money while in the Morgan City area.

Morgan City investigators successfully located Madison in Beaumont, Texas, with assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested on August 29th before being extradited and booked at the Morgan City Police Department on September 6th.

Morgan City Police Chief Chad M. Adams expressed his gratitude to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for their collaboration during the investigation.
