Man Arrested After Becoming Enraged Over Broken Fishing Pole

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Bryan Joseph Lovell, 40, of 1009 Ridgefield Road, Thibodaux, LA, on felony charges arising from a domestic incident on May 14, 2023 in Labadieville, LA.

On the aforementioned date, a uniformed patrol deputy was flagged down by a concerned citizen and advised that a female was being chased by a male subject and the female narrowly avoided being hit by passing vehicle traffic. The deputy was able to locate the female in the area of LA 1 and Poplar Street. The female was distraught and said she had been involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, now identified as Bryan Joseph Lovell. The victim advised that the boyfriend became enraged when she broke a fishing pole and he began chasing her armed with a piece of pipe.

Deputies applied for and were granted arrest warrants for Bryan Joseph Lovell related to the domestic incident.

Bryan Joseph Lovell had already left the area.

Bryan Joseph Lovell was arrested in Labadieville on June 15,2023 and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

  • Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault

Bryan Joseph Lovell remains incarcerated awaiting a bond hearing.
