Exclusive Interview: Morgan City Fire & Police Chief Respond to 1/2 Cent Sales Tax Passing to Fund Raises for their Departments

After a 1/2 cent sales tax to fund raise for Morgan City firefighters and police officers overwhelmingly passed on Saturday, the chiefs from both departments are showing their appreciation to the voters.

The sales tax passed by a 1083 – 165 vote margin, or 87% – 13%. The unofficial turnout was 17.5%.
