All students are safe after an accident involving a school bus Friday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 7:45 am on Highway 90 eastbound near Calumet. St. Mary Superintendent of Schools Dr. Teresa Bagwell was also on scene and tells KQKI News that the students are safe, have been transferred to another bus and were being transported to Hattie Watts Elementary School in Patterson.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Patterson Volunteer Fire Department, Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Department, Centerville Volunteer Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance responded to the scene.
