This week, Lieutenant James Mikeska was able to assist a citizen with the proper installation of a Child Safety Seat. Road injuries are the leading cause of preventable deaths and injuries to children in the United States. Correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent. More than half of car seats are not used or installed correctly.
Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin Jr. and the Morgan City Police Department wants to remind citizens that the Morgan City Police Department is a Child Safety Seat Check-Up Location. The Department has certified technicians on staff that can properly install your child’s safety seat. All you have to do is visit the Morgan City Police Department, located at 723 Myrtle Street in Morgan City, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, to have your seat properly installed. The seat is required for installation and if possible, your child is preferred for proper fitting.
