Cause of Death Ruled as an Accidental Drowning in Morgan City Woman’s Death

On Sunday morning, May 1, 2022, Marine Section deputies were dispatched to a call of a body in the water approximately 5 miles south of Berwick.

The Marine Deputies arrived at the location and recovered the body of an unidentified female.

SMPSO Detectives opened an investigation and identified the woman as Monique Barrilleaux, 38, of Morgan City.

Through the investigation, St, Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives obtained evidence to confirm that Barrilleaux died due to accidental drowning with no foul play.
