PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Leonard Stanford Johnson, 56, of 1709 Cecelia Street, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony D.W.I. charges following a traffic stop on Monday evening near Paincourtville, LA.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Leonard Stanford Johnson and immediately noted an odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from his person.
The deputy conducted field sobriety tests of which the suspect performed poorly. The deputy also observed alcoholic beverages within the motor vehicle.
Leonard Stanford Johnson was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center at which time he underwent a chemical test for intoxication. Johnson recorded a .286g% alcohol.
Leonard Stanford Johnson was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Driving While Intoxicated (Third Offense – Felony)
*Speeding
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*No Driver’s License on Person
Leonard Stanford Johnson remains incarcerated with a bond set at $15,000.
