Sheriff Leland Falcon of Assumption Parish has reported that two minors, aged 14 and 10 from Belle Rose, have been charged with first-degree rape. The charges stem from multiple instances of sexual assault against a child under 10 years old.
Local authorities were alerted to the situation on October 20, 2023, and responded to a series of reported assaults on the young child. The investigation revealed that the 14-year-old was the primary perpetrator, having initiated the assaults on several occasions. At one point, the older minor also influenced the 10-year-old to join in the assault.
Upon completion of the investigation, both minors were officially charged. The 10-year-old was released into the custody of a parent, awaiting further court action. However, the 14-year-old is currently being held in a juvenile detention center in anticipation of their court proceedings.
