On March of 2020, in response to complaints of narcotic activity, investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division began an investigation into the sale of Illegal Narcotics in the Morgan City Area. During the Investigation, several people were identified in a Drug Trafficking Organization which highly affected our area. Dwayne Clark and Wayne Clark were identified as the heads of this organization. As the investigation continued several coconspirators namely, Alton Kemp Jr, Christopher Woods, Lloyd Jones, Keith Clark, Denise Henderson Clark, and Keisha Howard were identified as being involved in the organization. Throughout the investigation, investigators executed multiple search warrants which led to the recovery of large amounts Narcotics, Paraphernalia, and Firearms. The investigation continued. In July of 2021, investigation executed additional search warrants at multiple locations between Amelia and Morgan City where Narcotics, Paraphernalia, and U.S. Currency was located. Multiple vehicles and the U.S. Currency located was seized. The investigation rendered several arrests of the heads of this organization along with it’s coconspirators. Since their arrest, Wayne and Dwayne Clark were later released on bond. On March 16, 2022, Dwayne Clark and Wayne Clark were Federally Indicted on Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl and Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl. The Clark’s were located and arrested on March 24, 2022 and booked into the Morgan City Jail on the Federal Arrest Warrants. They were later transferred to a Federal Holding Facility pending adjudication of these charges. The Investigation is ongoing and more arrest may follow.
