Woman Flees Custody During Court Sentencing in Iberia Parish

IBERIA PARISH — Authorities are actively searching for Jada Landry (DOB: April 9, 1998) after she fled custody while in court on January 12, 2026.

Landry escaped during sentencing proceedings for an aggravated battery conviction. She exited the courthouse and fled the area in a vehicle.

The vehicle has since been located. Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the New Iberia Police Department, are currently searching the surrounding area.
