WHAT: For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chillsnbetween 14 and 20. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously coldnwind chills between 5 and 10 above expected.
WHERE: Portions of central, south central, southwest, and westncentral Louisiana and southeast Texas.
WHEN: For the Cold Weather Advisory, until noon CST Sunday. Fornthe Extreme Cold Warning, from 6 PM Sunday to 11 AM CST Tuesday.
IMPACTS: Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected ski
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezingntemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you mustngo outside.nnMake sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, andnunfrozen water.nnUse caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, anhat, and gloves.nnKeep pets indoors as much as possible.nnMake frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensurenportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsninside.
