UPDATE: Due to damage to the utility truck’s hydraulic system, a crane must be brought in to take the truck apart.
Anderson Street will remain closed between Saint John and Ibert Streets until the truck can be safely removed from the roadway and then roadway is cleaned.

A utility truck is a total loss as a result of a fire in Franklin. On Saturday afternoon at approximately 12:43 pm, the Franklin Fire Department was dispatched to the 600 block of Anderson Street in reference to a downed power line and a utility truck that was fully-involved with fire.
The Franklin Fire Department said a contract company was replacing a utility pole that was recently damaged by a vehicle. The new pole struck a line and resulted in the truck catching on fire and knocking down the power line.
Cleco is on the scene to repair the damaged lines and said that 119 customers are without power. The current estimated time of restoration is Saturday at 2:45 pm.
No injuries were reported. Franklin Police Department is also on the scene to assist with traffic control. Anderson Street remains closed from Joseph to Ibert’s Streets.
