Two Suspects Arrested In Connection with Stolen Vehicle in Belle River/Stephensville Area

St. Martinville, LA–Sheriff Becket Breaux announces that on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at approximately 3:00 pm, deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a stolen vehicle possibly being in the Stephensville-Belle River area.

Deputies performed a search of the area and located the stolen vehicle traveling on Highway 70 in Belle River. A traffic stop was initiated, and during a probable cause search of the vehicle, Deputies located illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The suspects were identified as Lorrie Verret, 44, New Iberia, and Brye Segura, 32, New Iberia. They were both subsequently arrested and charged as follows:

LA Rev. Stat. 40:1023C Prohibited Acts-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-6 Counts
LA Rev. Stat. 40:966C: Possession of Schedule I-3 Counts

Following their arrests, they were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and booked on the above charges.
