Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of two individuals involved in a shooting at Houma Sam’s Club, which took place shortly before 4 PM on Friday.

Officials apprehended 18-year-old Jacob Luke Jr. from Dulac and 37-year-old Heather Luke from Chauvin on multiple charges related to the case. Investigators found that an armed robbery had occurred in the parking lot where an elderly couple was targeted. A senior citizen who tried to help was shot by the attacker, who then fled the scene on foot.

Multiple agencies collaborated to search for the suspect, leading to Jacob Luke Jr.’s arrest shortly afterward. Further investigation revealed evidence implicating both Jacob and Heather Luke in the crime. They were taken into custody without incident.

The accused face charges of armed robbery, armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery, and attempted first-degree murder. Both are currently in jail without bond.

The good samaritan who intervened is in stable condition at a local hospital, while the original victims suffered minor injuries. The investigation is still ongoing, with more information to be released as it becomes available.
