IBERIA PARISH, La. — Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet Silverado after observing multiple traffic violations.
During the stop, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery of approximately 2.4 grams of suspected
methamphetamine/fentanyl, approximately 1.5 grams of marijuana, a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine residue, and a torch.
As a result of the investigation, Lacey Abernathy was arrested and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on the following charges:
Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Methamphetamine/Fentanyl)
Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office stated it will continue working diligently to protect the safety and well-being of the citizens of Iberia Parish.
