Napoleonville, LA. – On August 1, 2023, just before 11 a.m., a deadly three-car collision occurred on Louisiana Highway 308 near Highway 1011, resulting in the death of 23-year-old Tia Gorrell from Houma. Louisiana State Police Troop C is investigating the accident.

Initial findings show that Kendall Dollar, 38, was driving a 2014 Jeep Wrangler southbound on LA Hwy 308. A northbound 2014 RAM 2500 towing a camper trailer and Gorrell’s 2016 Toyota Corolla were also involved in the crash. The Jeep crossed the center line for unknown reasons, sideswiping the RAM and its camper before colliding head-on with Gorrell’s Toyota.

All individuals were wearing seatbelts during the incident. Dollar sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in New Orleans for treatment. The RAM’s driver escaped uninjured. Sadly, Gorrell, who was expecting a child, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

No alcohol was detected in the breath sample provided by the driver of the RAM. Toxicology tests for Dollar and Gorrell are pending as impairment remains uncertain. The investigation is ongoing, and potential charges are forthcoming.

In 2023 alone, Troop C has probed 15 fatal crashes leading to 17 deaths.
