Thibodaux Police Chief Bryan Zeringue announced that an investigation is underway regarding a shooting that occurred at the crossing of St. Louis Street and W. 3rd Street, just after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
As officers were dispersing the crowd leaving Downtown bars at closing time, they heard around six gunshots close to where they were located. They responded to the location to assess the situation. While looking for the scene, Thibodaux Police Department was informed of a gunshot victim arriving at a nearby hospital.
One victim has been confirmed, with their identity being withheld for now. They have sustained at least two non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. The incident is still under investigation, and further details about motives or suspects will be disclosed as the case progresses.
