LABADIEVILLE – The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Leland Falcon, announced the filing of a formal complaint against a 13-year-old male from Gonzales regarding his alleged involvement in several burglaries at a place of worship on Convent Street.
Authorities were called to the religious establishment on April 1, 2024, to investigate a break-in. Upon arrival, detectives began probing into an incident where forced entry was made by an unidentified person(s) who then proceeded to pilfer items from the premises.
A few days later, on April 4, another burglary was reported at the same location but in a different section of the property. The perpetrator(s) once again gained unauthorized access and this time absconded with valuables worth upwards of $1,000. Some of these stolen items were subsequently recovered by the deputies.
The investigation unfolded over time leading detectives to pinpoint a young male from Gonzales as the person of interest. At the culmination of their inquiries, the teenage boy was formally accused through a verified complaint and now faces two charges of Simple Burglary.
Following the charges, he was entrusted into the care of a guardian as he awaits further legal procedures.
