Suzanne Marie Bodin Robicheaux

February 28, 1944 – June 17, 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Suzanne Marie Bodin Robicheaux. Born on February 28, 1944, in Ashton, Louisiana, Suzanne grew up cherishing sweet memories with her parents, Ida Parro Bodin and Ivy Joseph Bodin, Sr., along with the simple joys of life on their family farm.

A Liturgy of The Word Service will be held Friday, June 20, 2025. Visitation will be held in the church from 8:00 AM until time of the Liturgy at 10:30 AM. Deacon Gerry Bourg will officiate the service. Graveside services will follow after the Liturgy in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the church hall immediately following.

She attended St. John Academy, Suzanne was a vivacious majorette who discovered a deep passion for fashion and styling early in life. She completed cosmetology school in 1960, setting the stage for a lifelong devotion to beauty and design. Known for always taking pride in her appearance, she was elegant and inspiring to all who knew her. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Edward Paul Robicheaux, Sr. Together, they shared 64 remarkable years of marriage, raising a family and creating a legacy grounded in faith, love, and adventure. Suzanne stood proudly beside her husband throughout his military career, living in exciting places across the country and making each station a warm and welcoming home.

Suzanne was the beloved mother of four children; Veronica Robicheaux, Charlotte Robicheaux Holtzclaw (Chris), Edward Paul Robicheaux, Jr. (Julie), and Kimberly Robicheaux Capello (Rocky).

Following her husband’s retirement, Suzanne returned to Louisiana with her family and launched a thriving cosmetology career, owning and operating her own salon for over 30 years. Her clients became dear friends, drawn not just by her talent, but by her kindness and grace.

Gifted with an eye for design, Suzanne created stunning garments for herself and her daughters—sewing each piece with care, creativity, and love. Her eye for interiors was evident in every home she made, always both immaculate and inviting. She also found joy in baking, gardening, and spending time in her cherished New Orleans apartment. Known to spoil those she loved with special treats; her loved ones knew the way to her heart was through ice cream.

Suzanne’s life was a vibrant tapestry of love, style, laughter, and devotion. To her 10 grandchildren, she was the beloved Mama Sue: Macaulay Knight Whitaker (Robert), Russell Scott Knight II (Megan), Brady Paul Holtzclaw, Brock Charles Holtzclaw (Betsy), Ivy Paul Robicheaux (Lexi), Madlen Kate Robicheaux, Noah Paul Robicheaux, Haley Nicole Capello (Adam), Lloyd Anthony Capello III (Victoria), and Zachary Edward Capello (Madeline).

Her legacy continues through her 9 great-grandchildren; Thomas Babington Whitaker, Robert McDade Whitaker, Russell Evans Whitaker, Keeley Jane Holtzclaw, Charli Kay Holtzclaw, Evelyn James Knight, Russell Scott Knight III, Eliza Rose Capello, and Rudy Paul Robicheaux.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Russell Scott Knight II, Brady Paul Holtzclaw, Brock Charles Holtzclaw, Ivy Paul Robicheaux, Noah Paul Robicheaux, Lloyd Anthony Capello III, and Zachary Edward Capello.
