St. Mary Schools Adding Additional School Resource Officers

The St. Mary Parish School District says it is pleased to announce a cooperative partnership agreement with local, municipal police departments and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department to employ four additional Student Resource Officers (SROs) to service elementary, junior, and high school populations.

In a statement released through Facebook, the district said, Tuesday, January 17, 2023, began a three-week, collaborative (SRO) Training with Lafourche Parish Law Enforcement Agency in Lafourche, LA.

The implementation of the Student Resource Officer Program will begin on Monday, February 6, 2023.
