The St. Mary School District said on Thursday morning they are assessing schools and district offices to determine whether or not schools will be open on Friday. This comes after an historic snow event blanketed the area on Tuesday prompting the current closure. Some surrounding parishes, such as Assumption, have made the decision to keep their schools closed through Monday.
