Statement from St. Mary Parish School System:

”In the wake of Hurricane Francine, our hearts go out to all of you as we navigate the aftermath together. We are currently assessing all 21 school sites to ensure they are safe for our students and staff.

As a result, St. Mary Parish Public Schools will remain closed Friday, September 13, 2024. However, District and School Offices will be open tomorrow from 9 AM to 2 PM to prepare for a smooth reopening on Monday, September 16th. We ask that district and school office personnel, as well as custodial staff, report during normal hours for Friday, September 13th.

The St. Mary Parish School Board meeting scheduled for September 12th will still take place this evening. The public input session on the 2425 Fiscal Budget will start at 5:15 PM, followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 PM.

Please check your respective high school websites for updates regarding any previously planned events that may have been canceled or rescheduled.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and resilience during this challenging time. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need assistance or have any concerns.

Stay Strong, St. Mary!”
