St. Mary Parish School Board Employee Arrested in Theft Investigation

𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐃𝐫𝐮 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝, 𝟑𝟏, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 13, 2024, at 2:59 pm for the charges of forgery, theft (over $5,000), and malfeasance in office.

On December 11, 2024, detectives with the Investigations Section of the SMPSO were dispatched to a theft complaint at the St. Mary Parish School Board Office in Centerville.

Upon arrival, detectives spoke with school board administration concerning the possible theft. Through the investigation, detectives learned that a store charge card and a credit card had been used for personal use by a school board employee. Furthermore, detectives found evidence to suggest that a forgery had been committed in order to sign off on the purchases.

Dinah Dru Richard was developed as the suspect in the investigation and was brought in for questioning. Richard was subsequently arrested on a warrant for the charges stated above and was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set at this time.

At the time of arrest, detectives have identified charges that exceed $15,000. The investigation is ongoing.
