St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 84 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jujuan Melvin Poindexter, 22, Houma, LA, was arrested on July 7, 2023, at 5:01 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Illegal use/possession/control of weapons-crime of violence
- Illegal possession of stolen firearms
- Possession of schedule II CDS (hydrocodone bitartrate)
- Possession of marijuana
- Improper lane usage
- No seat belt
Bail has not been set on the St. Mary Parish charges.
Poindexter also held an active warrant out of St. Martin Parish for the following charges:
- Attempted 1st degree murder
- Criminal damage to property
A hold has been place on Poindexter for St. Martin Parish.
Donald Ray Richard Jr., 42, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on July 7, 2023, at 1:57 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- General speed law
- Possession of schedule II drugs
- Possession of schedule V
Richard was released on a $15,000 bond.
Jada I’yoanie Druilhet, 22, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 7, 2023, at 10:52 am on the following charges:
- resisting officer by giving false information
- view outward and inward of windshield
- unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution, possession of fraudulent documents
- inciting a riot
- disturbing the peace by fighting
- warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery
Druilhet also held two Franklin P.D. warrants for failure to appear on the charges of resisting an officer and expired vehicle inspection.
Druilhet held a Jeanerette warrant for failure to appear on the charges of criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing.
Bail has not been set on the St. Mary Parish charges and a hold has been placed for another agency.
Grant Michael Walker, 27, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on July 8, 2023, at 7:53 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of methamphetamine. Bail has not been set at this time.
Jeremiah Thomas Singleton, 21, Patterson, LA, was arrested on July 8, 2023, at 11:14 am on a warrant for the charges of violation of protective orders (2 counts), domestic abuse battery, and feticide-2nd degree. Bail has not been set at this time.
