St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 34 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Chanedra Kanee Jones, 35, Patterson, LA, was arrested on June 22, 2022, at 2:43 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery, possession of marijuana, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bail has not been set.
Brian Joseph Delaune Jr., 37, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on June 22, 2022, at 3:05 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $5,832.42.
Dustin Paul Fitch, 34, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on June 23, 2022, at 1:57 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled and improper lane usage. Bail has not been set.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Michael Ray Morris, 23, Franklin, LA, was arrested on June 22, 2022, at 9:48 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
- Possession of schedule I (heroin) with intent to distribute
- Possession of schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
- Possession of schedule I (MDMA) with intent to distribute
- Possession of schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
- Possession of firearm in the presence of a CDS
- Possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor
Bail was set at $180,000.
Wanya Malik Francis, 27, Patterson, LA, was arrested on June 22, 2022, at 4:20 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
- Possession of schedule I (heroin)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Window tint violation
- Attempted criminal damage to property
- Attempted simple escape
- Resisting an officer
Bail has not been set.
Dominick Dewaine Sheldon Sr., 32, Franklin, LA, was arrested on June 22, 2022, at 4:20 pm on the following charges:
- General speed law
- Reckless operation of a vehicle
- Aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce
- Disturbing the peace
- Resisting an officer with force or violence
