St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 33 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Charles Leland Prince, 56, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on May 16, 2023, at 6:40 pm on a warrant for domestic abuse battery and aggravated assault with a firearm. Bail has not been set at this time.
Sabrina Bagala, 44, Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 16, 2023, at 10:49 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Operating a vehicle without proper required equipment
- Driver must be licensed
- Failing to honor a written promise to appear
- Direct contempt
Bail was set at $615.
