St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 34 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Cameron Orrin Mitchell, 24,ย Franklin, LA, was arrested on March 27, 2024, at 7:00 pm for resisting arrest or officer and on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of reckless operation of a vehicle and disturbing the peace by fighting. Bail has not been set at this time.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Jawan Colar, 25,ย Baldwin, LA, was arrested on March 27, 2024, at 5:15 pm on a Texas warrant for failure to appear on the charge of unauthorized use of a moveable. Colar is being held for another agency.
Makai Simmons, 21,ย Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on March 27, 2024, at 5:15 pm for possession of schedule I, possession of a legend drug, and illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of a CDS. Simmons was released on a $10,000 bond.
Dontre Colbert, 24,ย New Iberia, LA, was arrested on March 27, 2024, at 5:52 pm for resisting officer by giving false information. Colbert was released on a $2,500 bond.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
