Local law enforcement and school officials are investigating a bomb threat at Franklin High School for a second consecutive day. As students arrived on campus Friday morning, they were escorted to the nearby recreation center while school and law enforcement personnel thoroughly examined the building.
School officials anticipate that students have returned to classes and are resuming as scheduled.
Honor band students will be hosted at the school and not at the Recreation Center as the building has been secured.
St. Mary Parish School Superintendent Dr. Teresa Bagwell said the threats are under investigation and they are attempting to identify a suspect or suspects.
Anyone with information regarding the threats is asked to contact the Franklin Police Department or the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
