According to the Morgan City Fire Department, at 8:00am on Wednesday, February 1st, the MCFD was notified of a structure fire in the 800 block of Ditch Ave. in Morgan City. Upon arrival, units found heavy smoke and fire showing from a single-story, single-family residence. An aggressive interior attack was made extinguishing the bulk of the fire within minutes of arrival.
Units remained on scene overhauling and extinguishing hot spots until 9:30. No injuries to civilians or firefighters, and the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
