NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jamon Jahiem Davis, 20, of 108 Jerome Court, Napoleonville, LA, on multiple felony counts related to an attack upon a corrections officer at the detention facility late Saturday night.
Deputies were summoned to the detention facility in connection to a disturbance within the facility. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with facility employees who indicated that a corrections officer had been viciously assaulted by an inmate now identified as Jamon Jahiem Davis.
Deputies secured the facility and initiated an investigation. During that process, deputies determined that the corrections officer was placing inmates into their cells at lockdown at which time Jamon Jahiem Davis refused to enter his cell. Davis then attacked the corrections officer causing bodily injury.
Deputies reviewed electronic surveillance footage which captured the incident.
The deputy was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
As a result of this incident, Jamon Jahiem Davis was booked on charges of:
*Battery of a Correctional Facility Employee (2 Counts)
*Aggravated Second Degree Battery
*Taking Contraband to/from a Penal Institution
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons – (self-made shank)
*Simple Escape
*Simple Battery of the Infirmed
Jamon Jahiem Davis was previously being held on a probation revocation sentence as a Louisiana Department of Corrections inmate for prior offenses. Jamon Jahiem Davis was transferred to the custody of the Louisiana Department of Corrections on Monday morning.
