The Morgan City Police Department has received multiple reports from local businesses regarding a subject portraying themselves to be an Officer of the Morgan City Police Department calling on behalf of the City Court of Morgan City. The subject appears to be spoofing the police departments emergency line to make these calls.
Chief Adams would like to remind everyone that the Morgan City Police Department will never contact individuals over the phone to threaten legal action over missed court appearances, nor solicit or demand payment of fines. As always, we ask our citizens to continue to be diligent and report any suspicious activity.
