A Morgan City man has been arrested and charged with Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. The arrest follows an investigation that began in December 2020 when officers responded to a report that a juvenile victim had allegedly become pregnant by the suspect. According to investigators, 27-year-old Gerson Petronila Perez-Cordona and the victim were believed to have engaged in sexual activity on two separate occasions.
During the initial investigation, authorities were unable to locate Perez-Cordona, and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On November 21, the Department of Homeland Security located Perez-Cordona, who was then booked on the outstanding warrant. He remains in custody awaiting court proceedings and is currently being held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
