MORGAN CITY, La. (October 11, 2025) – A Morgan City man is facing multiple local and federal charges after police discovered he was wanted internationally for manslaughter.

According to the Morgan City Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance on Roderick Street around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025. When officers arrived, they encountered Arnoldo Alejandro Arita-Recinos, 29, who appeared to be intoxicated in a public area.

As officers attempted to take Arita-Recinos into custody for public intoxication, he reportedly resisted and engaged in a physical altercation with officers. After a brief struggle, he was subdued and placed in handcuffs without further incident.

During the course of the investigation, authorities discovered that Arita-Recinos was wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) in connection with manslaughter charges originating from Honduras. The warrant was confirmed through the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which issued a detainer for extradition.

Arita-Recinos was booked into the Morgan City Police Department on charges of Resisting an Officer, Disturbing the Peace, and as a Fugitive (Department of Homeland Security I.C.E.). He remains in custody pending federal extradition proceedings.
