MORGAN CITY, La. — Morgan City Main Street is celebrating a successful partnership with Keep Louisiana Beautiful as part of the statewide fight against litter and environmental blight.

The collaboration was highlighted during the 2025 Love the Boot Week, a Louisiana-wide initiative focused on cleanup and community pride. This year’s effort delivered impressive results across the state:

514 tons of litter removed

26,935 volunteers mobilized

1,408 cleanup events held

Participation from all 64 parishes

Local leaders say the results underscore the power of community action and civic pride. Morgan City proudly joined communities across the state in making a measurable impact.

Looking ahead, organizers are encouraging residents to mark their calendars for Operation Beautification Day, scheduled for April 18, 2026. The annual event will bring volunteers together to help enhance and preserve the city’s appearance.

Residents are also reminded that keeping Morgan City beautiful is a year-round effort. Officials encourage the public to:

Pick up trash when they see it and place it in proper receptacles

Dispose of waste in tied bags before placing them in industrial trash cans

Never litter

Community leaders say even small actions can lead to big results, thanking residents for their continued commitment to keeping Morgan City clean, welcoming, and thriving.
