On Thursday morning at approximately 6:50 am, the Morgan City Fire Department was dispatched to 713 Duke St for the report of a house on fire.
Heavy fire and smoke were reported by first arriving units. At that time, additional personnel was requested and fire was under control at approximately 7:15am. There were no injuries reported to the occupants of the home or firefighters.
Units are still on scene this morning overhauling and extinguishing hot spots, with the investigation to follow.
24 MCFD personnel, 8 on duty and 16 off duty responded to the scene.
Acadian Ambulance and Morgan City PD also responded and stood by on the scene.
