On Thursday, at approximately 1:00 pm, the Morgan City Fire Department responded to a report of a fire behind the Morgan City Police Department Jail. The fire was confined to a storage area that is located behind the jail. Smoke was reportedly showing for several blocks in Morgan City. The Morgan City Electrical Department also responded to the scene to terminate the power to the storage area. We will update the story as more information becomes available.
